Without A Strong Plot…

August 29th, 2008 by miershyk

So I’ve been watching some anime series once a while with Edmund… Mostly really entertaining ones, only a few that made me go @_@…

Watched "Sword of the Stranger", a anime movie released last year and only released in Blu-Ray this year. Lucky to get it downloaded. Stunning artwork and heart-stopping sword-fight scenes. Definitely recommend it… Reminds me of "Seirei no Moribito", having that similar feel to it, with a pretty strong plot, action and character development.

Most of the time I watch series based on the summary, next the art-style of the animation. Even if it’s not the usual bishie looking or really drool-worthy guys, I usually go straight for the plot. If it lacks a strong plot, the whole series go straight down the abyss. Serious. Even if the series kicked off really well.

"Code Geass: R2"… Need I say anymore? Season 1 was a blast, but Season 2 this year had me twitching my brows in certain episodes, notably if the character design of Lelouch lacks the usual consistency. Plus, it has recently gone spinning a little offtrack. Maybe that’s just me, all the more since I’m watching it with my bro once a week when the subs are released, hence breaking the usual pace from the previous week’s adrenaline.

CG: R2 is now at 20 episodes, I’m waiting to see how they’re going to wrap up the last few eps… On the other hand, thank goodness for Adrienne, my housemate, who has "Futurama", to throw in some senseless humour… ^_^

That aside, time to sleep… Independance Day is coming up this Sunday!!! Woohoo~ Saturday we’re gonna do our own mini celebration over at our house… Yay~ Alright… Zzzzzz~

Post Birthday Report 8D + Other Stuffs~

August 14th, 2008 by miershyk

Aug 12th was indeed full of surprises. Being at the age of 21 didn’t
make me go "Oooh" or "Ahhh" or even "Ou mai gawd". It just means I’m
another year older, adding one more number to my age and signifying
that I’ve lived on this earth for one more year. A friend of mine put
it this way.

What is 20 + 1? Most people would reply "21". But
she said: "It means another year of life experience." Which is really
true as at times, I just continue living life as it goes, so much that
I seldom take the time and pause for a moment to enjoy what life truly
is.

That aside, Tuesday starts off with nothing much. My dear
brother, Edmund, has mysteriously gone busy and I didn’t managed to get
through to his phone in the late evening. Settled some funds transfer
with the bank, bought some groceries for dinner, paid my tuition fees
partially, a few more misc stuffs, and then head home.

Nothing
special, Ed came over to cook dinner. Then Salmy and Ni Xuan (my
housemates) decided to drag me out for pizza at O’Connel street, which
I was reluctant to, since Ed was already halfway cooking dinner. Oh
well, I wanna try the seafood pizza again anyway, and was telling Salmy
that I want it as a birthday treat. While we were walking, they
suddenly told me that I was to be blindfolded and to be taken to some
place.

Surprise struck me but I went along with the flow,
enjoying the entire time they were leading me around walking to the
designated spot. One thing I realized about walking blindly while being
guided is that you learn to put your trust on whomever is leading you.
As much as one might want to walk slowly, feeling their way around
themselves, being able to put my full trust on the both of them was
quite an eye-opener. Though pretty much most of the time I was asking
"Flat land? No steps? Flat? Flat flat flat?" Lolz~ I did got spun
around pretty often, just so they could get my sense of direction
messed up, not that I’ve a good sense of direction anyway… Orz~

After
quite some walking, I was led back home to a dining hall which was
wonderfully and lovingly decorated, and with a glass of champagne
waiting for me. >_< Gosh~ I’ve learned that I’ve a pretty low
tolerance to alcohol from Kathy’s birthday some time back. Three and a
half shot of vodka is not fun… *head desk* KO-ed till the next day
with a pretty annoying hang-over… So this time is an obligatory 21st
birthday celebration glass, and I finished it… ^_^ No more!!! Just
one glass made me feel light on my toes already. Nonetheless, the
things prepared by my housemates, neighbours and friends really touched
me. Turns out that during the evening, Ed didn’t pick up the phone
because they were busy preparing the dishes and were telling him not to
answer it. O_O

Had lots of fun, and then another small celebration by my LifeGroup
members on Wednesday night. Really really sweet of all of them. We had
also celebrated Marabelle’s 24th birthday last Sunday (her birthday is
on Aug 11th) at her place. Our LG love celebrating our member’s
birthday, really fun times!!! But when it comes to your turn, it really
makes a difference. The lengths they go to, the sweet messages on the
birthday card, the cake!!! The gifts… They got me a PURPLE woolen
cap!!! Uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa~ So very happy! I believe it’s cause they know
I love wearing something on my head whenever I go out… Like my purple
Fruits Basket beanie cap and my black earmuffs which I’m currently
wearing oftenly; keeps my ears warm and my hair in check.

Phew~ That was quite a report, in a sense. >_< Dad’s birthday is
coming up soon too… Ngehehehehe~ I miss him. Miss mom too. Miss
everyone!!! I really do wanna see everyone again. One year makes such a
difference! Was on the phone two days back with mom, chatting with her
a while and was asking me what I would like for my 21st birthday! Lolz~
If it was last year, I would say the Sony Ericsson 610i, which I’d eyed
on since last year cause it comes bundled with MP3 player and cam. But
now I don’t use my own MP3 player as often, and I’m still loving my
Nikon Coolpix S3 so that wishlist has been scrapped.

Been reading and looking about on the Nikon D60 though… Had
previously eyed the Nikon D40x (10.2MP compared to its 6MP D40)…
Found out about the D60, which will be replacing the D40x. Same
features, same body, with a little more exta feature. For a 126 x 94 x
64 mm size, it’s one of the most compact DSLR. The difference is that
the D60 has a dust-remover sensor (which previously doesn’t have in the
first two) plus Vibration Reducer for its lens. Been thinking that if I
would to one day upgrade my camera, this is what I’ll be looking for.
*shrug*

I do love photography, and at times have thought of going one step
further but can’t really do much as my lovely-and-still-awesome Coolpix
S3 is quite limited in certain ways. Price can be a killer though, as
with most common DSLRs… D40x (released March 2007, and which will
later be discontinued) and D60 (just out this Jan) each passing the
RM2500 mark, D40 (released at the end of 2006) already about RM1800
with kit lens. Dad has a SLR at home too, I think… His first one,
which still uses film negatives. Wanna try use it when I’m back home,
except that it’s so H U G E !!! Well, a girl can wish… >_<
Eeeeps~ This is gonna turn into a DSLR ramble! Shall go back to my
studies…

The week has been really fun and filled with bits and
pieces of surprises. It’s back to the usual normal days… Having a
birthdate makes a certain day all the more special. ^_^

Back to Workloads

July 31st, 2008 by miershyk

Just started the first week of semester 2 already and things are
looming up ahead. At last starting to do 3rd year subjects
(Linguistics: Language Learning) while finishing my year 2 subs, which
is my Jap language and also taking an Asian Studies sub: Contemporary
Japan - Culture and Identity. Being in a transition into 3rd year is
really starting to sink in as that means more workload and having to be
diligent in my assignments and projects.

This semester only see Jap Language being the one subject where I’ve to
sit for an exam paper at the Wayville Showground again whereas Contemp.
Jap is an in-class paper (along with presentations, tute papers and
semester essay) while LL will be mainly on a huge research project.
Things aren’t gonna be easy but I’m looking forward to the challenge,
especially LL as it would be like writing a thesis! Haven’t actually
decide on what topic to do my research on but as the lecturer said,
it’s an ongoing process and we wouldn’t need to rush in and decide just
yet. However, he’ll be posting up guidelines and showing us examples of
past works to help us.

As for me, I too haven’t the faintest idea on what topic to research on
(our lecturer gives us free choice for us to create our own research
topics) but I’m thinking of one related to bilingualism or second/third
language learning. *phew* Not gonna be easy! Bought my course readers
today too so I’m gonna start reading up on the materials. Jap class is
gonna be vigorous, but with some interesting activities created by
Akiko sensei involving games and interaction/conversation with local Japanese people, and also a session with Watanabe-san on tea ceremony. ^_^

Oxygen and LifeGroup is going through some restructuring so the
timetable has changed dramatically. Well, not exactly really
dramatically but there HAS been changes in the number of times we’ll
meet and so forth. Oxygen will now be once per month as an evangelistic
outreach, whereas weekly meet-ups will now combine with Powergen and
Nextgen on Fridays (which was supposed to be forthnight Oxygen meets,
and the other forthnight for LG). So yea LG now has to find other times
for meets. I’m not overly fond of the changes as the usual timetable
and schedule has been thrown off course. But God moves in different
ways and will just see how it goes. ^^ Till then~

Of BBQ and Birthday Surprise!!!

July 13th, 2008 by miershyk

Yesterday’s BBQ at the West Terrace parklands was awesome!!! Had it
with the Life Group bunch and also celebrated a surprise early birthday
for Ernestine (which is today on 13th July)… XD Shaleeni is also back
from Malaysia!!! Woot~ Praise God that she’s doing fine now and also
for her quick recovery. Hui Ling was supposed to pick Ed and I up at
about 9.10am but I slightly overslept and Ed called my phone at exactly
that time… D8 Rush rush rush!!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeps~ Thank goodness Hui
Ling messaged me and said she’s also arriving a little late. Gawd~

The
peach jellies were pretty much done, though I’m gonna use much much
less water next time. The lychee ones Ed did the night before turned
out half-jelly-half-liquid… Lol~ Too much water… *head desk* Good
thing I made a separate set with the peaches… >_< Anyhow Hui
Ling arrived some time later and we reached there pretty early and met
up with Jia Ching, Ernestine and Jacky. Got the place set up, cleaned
the BBQ pit, and then time for cooking!!! Woot~ The others came pretty
soon and things were cooking up… Hehehhehee~ Let’s see, Debra and CK
helped to arrange and lay out the marinated chickens (done awesomely by
Shaleeni and Sara), Shaleeni and Ed also lent their hands. Many thanks
to Sha for the BBQ man! She was BBQ-ing the chickens, sausages and
beefs plus potatoes, onions and mushrooms etc for almost the whole
time!!!

Abel
also helped out later along with Jimmy on the sauce (he put so much
sauce!!!)… XDDDDDDDDD Oh yes, I also helped out, but near the end…
=P Don’t wanna just sit there and be served, I mean, "everyone lending
a helping hand" is what I’m really drilling into my head. Just sort of,
you know, sincerely doing something rather than just expecting others
to do it for you, cause I can’t always just sit back and have a spoon
fed to me all the time. That aside… Yes, chicken wings, drummies and
onions!!!

Massively
awesome time we had… ^_^ (I miss blogging so much… Quite a few
stuffs happened but with God’s grace I’m picking myself up again and
I’m beginning to see slight changes in my life. Wee~) Yes, on with pics
and the BBQ… After that was beef!!! I missed out taking pics of the
sausages… Hehehehe~ Abel "inspecting" the chickies and beef…
Mwahahahaha~

The pic below is where we ate, with the BBQ pit in the background…

Then
the surprise birthday for Ernestine!!! Lovely Oreo cheesecake done by
Christine; Jia Ching gathered everyone’s birthday message and made it
into a scrapbook for her (the one held in her hand). Christine’s the
one who helped cut the cake and distribute to everyone… Thank you
Christine!!! It was totally delicious!!! =3 Hehehe~ Noticed the
butcher-knife Ernestine was using? 8DDDDDDDDDDDDDD Oh yea, peach
jellies in the black tupperware in first pic done lovingly by me! *gets
bricked*

Alright,
here’s two pics of our group shot… The second pic was really funny…
XD Jimmy (with the cutting-board) and Chris looking "elsewhere"… Lolz~

Had
an awesome time at the BBQ. Church service today was also carried a
challenging message by a gues speaker, Steve Kelly from the US. Need to
get my resume done soon and then next week try find a partime work or
something. Maybe I should try volunteer work? I wanna work in a
bookstore… =_=|| *whacks self* God will provide a way and I’ll learn
to put my trust in Him! Yay~ Guess that’s it for now… Everyday is a
living experience, there is no such thing as being "too late", because
when you don’t even start, that’s when failure is already at hand.

On the other hand, got my Jap paper result already. 71 for Credit (75
is Distinction), will continue to work hard on it for the rest of my
course. Waiting for my other two result… *cross finger* Yosh yosh
yosh! Gambatte ne, atashi! \\^o^//

Wake Up Call?

July 7th, 2008 by miershyk

Woot~ This is a record, fifth time deleting and rewriting my post. Long long loooooooooooong posts… XD Really helped me to rant and vent a bit before typing more sanely. Dad was online earlier today on MSN, had a chat and then emailed him back about some stuffs. Really need to communicate more… Haiz~ A lot of these mistakes are on my part. Had my bro give me a "Weakness Revealing Day" thingy after that… Gonna do some winter-cleaning (pun not intended) later this week and have my life a bit more organized… Wee~

After was chatting with another friend online and it kinda helped me understand things more about myself, the people around me and my life… Thanks~ *hugs* It’s not like life hasn’t been going well with me, I just probably don’t care enough or take the initiative to DO something about my life. It’s like going with the flow, and swimming along and letting the current take me whereever it goes. Then when the waves come, it’ll crash into me and drown me, and I won’t be able to save myself because I didn’t learn to swim when I should have.

O_O Did I just type that in a descriptive way? OMG~ *sigh* Calmed down a bit now already after all the pent up feeling… >_< Not sure how dad’s gonna reply my email… TT_TT *cross finger* I wanna try look for a part-time job. But I’m such a coward in taking the first step… *kicks self* Gonna work on a resume this week and then try look around for work… I should just try to do anything and stop being picky…

Alright, I’m feeling much better already after all those earlier venting (and deleting). Gonna go cook dinner soon… ^_^ Been raining since this morning and the weather’s been so cloudy and moody. Was that the reason for my moods? XDDDDDDDD *head desk* Right, cook… Wee~

Exams + Poupee

June 28th, 2008 by miershyk

Hez gave me a kick (just kidding) and here I am with another update… Chatting with her now and glad that things are going well for her… Muzzy, all the best in your studies… ^_^ Haha~ You and Hannah in medic-related courses…

Anyhow, 2 papers down, one more to go… Japanese… TT_TT Classics was fine last Friday. Thank goodness… ^_^ The evening before had decided to take a two hour nap (2.30pm-4.30pm) and also had friends msg-ing me to wake me up, especially since I stayed awake the night before… *sob* Woke up by my brother and it was showing the number 12 on my watch. I totally freaked out, thinking it was 12pm and I’d missed my morning Classics paper… Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeps~

Turns out it was 12am and my phone batt died, which was why my friends couldn’t call to wake me up. Wth~~~~~~~~~~ There goes at least 6 hours of studies… Grrrrr~ Nonetheless studied my earlier topics, read my written essays (in hope that a similar question come up for the essay section) and go through some notes. Went pretty well and though I didn’t managed one of the question, I was satisfied with it. Hopefully results will shine upon me… =D

The previous Monday had been quite a bad time for me. I’d a Linguistics essay which is totally overdue (for a month on 26th June) and I kinda broke down a bit. Hadn’t been managing my time well and procrastinating on that essay. My tutor had emailed me twice about it but I kept avoiding it. Heck, it’s gonna cost me 30% of my total marks! A few online friends gave me some encouragement and the tutor replied back with just "Submit the essay." so I finished it up in 4 days. *phew* Not too satisfied with it but hopefully get me a Credit in my sub… T_T

That aside, Japanese paper is this coming Friday… Yosh!!! Gambatte!!! Other than that, my housemate has been getting me hooked on Poupee… Like gawd~ I’m kinda getting addicted to it… =3 If anyone wants to add me, I’m miershyk over there… ^_~ Pretty fun, never thought I’ll get almost-hooked to it. Hopefully doesn’t last too long… OTZ~

Right right… Think I’ll go back to Poupee to relax a bit, or maybe just head to DoA and see any doll items I can get… *grin*

Woa~ Long Rambling, I Think…

June 20th, 2008 by miershyk

Yea, like WOA~ Big one… Having dinner now… Like heck, when was the last time I posted here? Been hanging out at LJ waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much… >_> Besides, I’m definitely loosing touch with quite a few friends I’m close with… Haiz…

So yea I think this post is gonna be long, as I tend to ramble, but meh~ I’ve been so lazy to blog HERE that it’s not even funny. Dad had asked why didn’t I update my Blogspot, nor why haven’t I touch Friendster for ages.

Like I said, I’ve been more into LJ in recent times. Pretty much how I see my posts are…

Blogspot = Family members to view
Friendster blog = Friends at Friendster (who also takes the time to read them, thanks!)
Livejournal = Where I am now, with the doll journals and misc communities…

It’s not that I’ve forgotten nor neglected anyone, though it definitely feels like it. Lazy would have been a better word. Technically, I’m more towards LJ for its versatility: getting updates from those on the F-list, updates on comments etc. Not to mention choosing how to post your entries and who to view it.

I don’t get those on Blogspot. I won’t know if I get a comment unless I check it often. Unless Friendster notify me if someone on my Friendster update their blogs. Haiz~ Well, at least cheers to this update entry… Meh~ =_=;;

Seriously, I think being overseas has changed me massively in some ways. I dunno. It seems like it. But honestly, I hope I’ll still stay close to a few of my really good buddies: Hannah, Hezrin & Muzzy. Man, I miss them… TT_TT

Just recently was on MSN with Hezrin. Like gawd~ Finally!!! So happy to get to chat with her… ^__________^ I’m on the exam-month for June/July. Second paper next Friday, then the final paper the follwing Friday… Haiz… Then winter hols! Sheesh, been rather cold lately, I want my heater back from my bro! RAWR~

Speaking of my bro, Edmund’s doing fine… Damn, he’s doing waaaaaaay better than me… Blah~ Procrastinator me… I need to buckle up, not… *head desk* Gawd~ *looks back up at post* Told ya it’s a rambling…

Ooo~ Yay! Something posted by Lizzie! Damn, it’s so long and full of crap… Sorry, I think I slipped somewhere… D8 Don’t worry, it’s just same old Lizzie, just being a tad bitchier or something… (HOMG~ Lizzie never uses such words!!!) Hm, how do you say, I express myself more on the net? Wth~ t ( = _ = t  )

Alright, shall stop here… How about a "welcome back" comment eh? *gets bricked*

OMG~ I’m ALIVE!!!

February 9th, 2008 by miershyk

Ok… Lame title but yea it depicts this post… Like… HOMG~ I’m finally writing again? Yea actually been bloody lazy to update… Being caught up with other worldly things and totally neglected the blog-world… Gosh~

So yes first things first… Arrived in Adelaide safe and sound by 31st Jan 2008 morning… Settled quite nicely already after a week… Classes start early March… So my bro and I’ve about 3 weeks left of "vacation"… Edmund’s doing well, I think… Ahahhaa~

Quite a few things happened… For some bloody reason my laptop got "konk-ed" and I had to reformat the whole thing… T_____________T Quite some important information were gone but boy, was I glad I shifted my remaining "xxxHolic" and "Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle" into my external… And then, my laptop hated me and doesn’t seem to have a wireless driver… D8 That means if I wanna go online, I’ve to connect it to the modem port with my LAN wire… Gosh~ Cause my wire is short, I’ve to sit outside beside the damn modem with my laptop…

*sigh* Nothing much these days… Wanna take my bro and a friend (from Nilai) to Glenelg beach soon when the weather’s fine… These few days were awesome with cool weather, though it was also rather chilly… 22C-25C… Gosh~ Oh yea I wanna find work too… Need to go through my details and see what I need to do before applying for work…

Cashier!!! Like hell I’m gonna be one… I prefer desk jobs, something like a typist work or what-not… I don’t mind meeting people and stuffs but I prefer desk work, with occasional social meetings etc… CNY here was rather ok… Some shops at Chinatown hired some lion dance troupe on the first day… The firecrackers were darn loud!!! I had wanted to take snapshots of it but the utter loudness of the crackers had me using both hands to cover my ears and only snapping pics of the after-effect… Namely, the smoke… D8

Last year was better, they had a performance and there were also little goodies stalls lining along the street… Maybe not on the first day eh? Not sure… Haven’t drop by to see how it is… Anyhow, just finished dinner… Woohoo~ So full… Well didn’t really had breakfast nor lunch… D8 Only had half a cup of milk… Gawd~ I’m never gonna drink milk again… T_T (Edmund: "Don’t drink on an empty stomach!") Oh whatever… I just won’t drink pure-milk… Bleh~

There, shall pen off and drown myself in my previously net-deprived-world… XD

Different Images of Alexius…

September 26th, 2007 by miershyk

Right, I know I own some people picture of Alexius so here he is… I’m currently trying to find the right style for him (read: eyes and wigs, and clothes etc) so this isn’t his final look… I’ve got a pair of green cats eyes for him and also two commissioned fur wigs… Another wig I got for him was a lil loose on him, plus it just didn’t fit his look… So below are some pics of him… I bring you… Alexius Eliaz le’Shyk!!!

To start off is Alexius in my fav fur wig with the cats eye…

Alexius and Mier… They look so much like siblings in this pic, since both have pale green eyes… XD

Love how his eyes reflect the light…

In the commissioned fur wig… Seriously I just love it… And oh
yea after a while I got rid of those two cute clips on top and gave it
to Mier…

Testing and playing with lighting… ^_^

>w< I love this dark look!!!

I decided to try have one of his eyes normal and the other cats
eye… I’m so glad that the greens of both eyes are similar… =D

A better view of the necklace I made for him… So far I’ve made
three already in a span of 4-5 hours with beads and charms etc… Might
make another one for him… But he doesn’t seem the type for something
too flashy… *shrugs*

I love this slight-side-view…

And a view slightly from the bottom…

And of course a larger image of him… Yea I added those beads and
chains onto the pin too… Had to use a plier to twist the pin and
insert them in so they don’t fall out when I unclip it… XD

Thanks for viewing… He could be related to Mier in some ways… Have
to see how it goes… Need to start making clothes for him… XD But
I’m sure a beads person… >_> Anyhow, looks like the other wigs
will only reach next week… Oh well, hopefully the long wig fits
him… He seems to wear the 7 inch wigs, and those usual 7/8 inch wigs
are a lil loose on him… *sighs* Must find 6/7 inch stretchable
wigs… Just needed to spam Alexius a bit… (O^,^O)

Another Update on Alexius!!!

September 17th, 2007 by miershyk

Just a quick one… Alexius’ DoC body arrived last Friday, today got the EMS tracking from Tony on Alexius’ AS Gus head… Probably arrive by the end of this week… Weeeeeeeee~ Can’t wait to get him!!! I’ll post up pictures once he arrive… ^_^

Anyhow it’s our 2 weeks semester break now… I realize I’ve not been updating much but will just throw in some stuffs here and there once a while… =D
